Loughborough struck by two vicious assaults last night

Both victims were punched and kicked in the face


Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two brutal attacks occurred in the early hours of this morning.

The first attack took place near the Leisure Centre at 3:45am where a 21-year-old man was punched and kicked in the face after being chased into Queen’s Park.

The attackers then stole his phone and wallet.

The second assault took place on Frederick Street, a popular student area, at around 4:30am.

A 20-year-old man was viciously set upon by three men who proceeded to repeatedly punch and kick him in the face. Fortunately, the man did not require hospital treatment.

Leicestershire Police have released descriptions of the three men.

In the first incident near the Leisure Centre the first suspect has been described as 5ft 10in tall with dark black hair and is in his mid 20s.

Suspect number two was stockier but of a similar height and age. He was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a grey zipped jacket.

At the second incident, suspect number one was described as an athletic man standing at about 6ft tall with brown hair. He was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit.

The second suspect is in his early 20s and has a broad muscular build. He also wore dark tracksuit bottoms and a Nike crew-neck sweatshirt.

He had a red bandana with a paisley pattern on it tucked into his joggers.

The third man has been described as a white male, 21 and 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall with a skinny build and blonde short hair.

He wore a puffa style shiny jacket and a black beanie hat.
