UCL ranked seventh best university in the WHOLE of the UK

We’re 14 places higher than King’s, obviously

UCL has been ranked the seventh best university in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2018 League Table, moving up three places in the league from last year.

Compared to last year, UCL’s score has increased by 29 points from 880 to 909. Most of this was due to an increase in the graduate prospects score.

The graduate prospect score takes not only takes into account of the number of students who find work or go on to further study, but also the type work graduates go on to do in relation to their degree.

UCL continues to have high scores in academic research.  As well of having a high quality score for research, the university also has a high intensity score, which means that a large proportion of staff at UCL are involved in some type of research.

The area which UCL did worst in was student satisfaction, getting 3.97 out of five. However, this is an improvement from last year, and still higher than King’s College London.

Student satisfaction was not the only thing UCL beat King’s in, with UCL ranking 14 places higher in the league than King’s, who ranked 21st. Unlike UCL, King’s has not increased its rank, and remains in the same position it was last year.

Unsurprisingly, Cambridge was first in the league for the fourth year running, obtaining the maximum total score of 1,000. Oxford placed second, for the fourth year running, probably much to their annoyance.
