Northern and Piccadilly lines to get the Night Tube

Gutted if you live on the Hammersmith and City Line

TFL have confirmed that their Night Tube service will be expanded to include the Northern and Piccadilly lines, some time “this autumn”.

Piccadilly Line trains are set to operate along the entire line – excluding the Terminal 4 loop – from Heathrow Terminal 5 out in Zone 6 to perennial favourite Cockfosters in North London.

The Northern Line will reportedly run every 8 minutes from Morden to Camden Town and then every 15 minutes from Camden Town to both the High Barnet and Edgware branches. However, the Night Tube will not be running along the Bank Branch or up towards Mill Hill East.

This news comes after the success of the 24-hour services on both the Victoria and Central lines, which was launched back in August and runs on Fridays and Saturdays. The Jubilee line is set to join the Night Tube service on October 7th, and there are plans to include parts of the Overground by 2017.

Whilst there is no set date for the Northern and Jubilee launches, there has been speculation from a BBC London correspondent that it could arrive as soon as November 18th – just before the major Christmas and New Year tourism rush.
