King’s Cross is the most dangerous Tube station

Surprised it’s not Cally Road

Over 400 crimes – including theft and sexual offences – were committed at King’s Cross Tube station last year.

British Transport Police have revealed a staggering 457 crimes were reported over the 12 months since December 1st 2014.

Among these crimes were 87 violent incidents, 65 public order offences,  25 sex crimes and a whopping 200 thefts. There were also reports of drug offences and fraud.

The other stations to reach the undesirable title of top 10 most dangerous Tube stations in London were Oxford Circus, Stratford, Victoria, Liverpool Street, Bank, Green Park, Holborn, Leicester Square and London Bridge.

With King’s Cross Underground station serving more Tube lines than any other station in London, it’s no surprise it’s one of London’s busiest stations, seeing over 50 million commuters each year.

Sadly, along with Victoria, it’s also one of the most popular stations to commit suicide, with 100 recorded each year.

But the overall number of reported offences on the London Underground actually decreased by 12.4 per cent in 2014-2015, and the British Transport Police hope crime rates will continue to go down.

The safest station turned out to be North Wembley on the Bakerloo line, which had just two reported crimes for vandalism and theft.

As always, the British Transport Police requests you report any crimes or suspicious activity to them immediately.
