CONFIRMED: ‘Benthamselfie’ breaks world record
Reppin’ UCL’s only bona fide BNOC
UCL officially broke the world record for the most people simultaneously wearing Jeremy Bentham face-masks in one place.
Do-gooders at UCL Philanthropy confirmed 153 students took part in the successful stunt.
This week saw students from across the world – including Sydney – donning our ideological godfather’s famous fat-face.
The campaign later went viral with the hashtag #benthamselfie.
Jeremy Bentham is Bloomsbury poly’s philosophical founder and was one of its first investors, purchasing a £100 share in the university around the time of its establishment.
The chubby legend’s auto icon sits in the South Cloisters.
During February UCL celebrated Philanthropy Month as a way of recognising those who support the University – either by giving their time or financial support.
UCLU’s Women’s Officer Annie Tidbury tweeted that the masks were “the stuff of nightmares”.
The original BNOC also got a fashion makeover.
