Following the heated “Occupy Senate House” protest last December, four people have been arrested under charges of having committed “highway offences” at the student-led demonstration.

Things got rowdy as police closed the gates on a horde of UoL students

One of our very own, home-grown UCL grads is at the centre of it all, having been arrested in light of their obstruction of a highway on that fateful December 4th.

The other three people in question are all UoL students, hailing from the School of Oriental Studies, Queen Mary, and King’s College London. They now face court proceedings having apparently “plac[ed] objects in the highway to the potential danger of other road users”.

The eventful “Occupy Senate House” protest was somewhat overshadowed by furore over alleged police brutality, prompting a dramatic and ultimately violent “Cops Off Campus” protest a day later.

The Tab was first at the scene, arriving to find blood on the concrete outside Euston Square station

The four charged students have all received bail and must face up to the allegations in an appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrate’s Court on 18th March.
