RAG’s fundraising continues with a wheelchair basketball day.

Yesterday saw another event in RAG’s packed fundraising calendar as they held a wheelchair basketball event in ULU to raise awareness for Action for Kids- a charity for disabled children and young people.

Wheelchair basketball is a high profile sport in Britain thanks to the likes of Paralympic bronze medallist Ade Adepitan and it proved popular with viewers during this summer’s Paralympic Games in London.

Yesterday’s event featured teams from RAG, Rare FM, Handball, Women’s Basketball, Catholic Union, Christian Society and the History Society. UCLU Student Activities Officer Abdul-Ahad Akbari also participated.

The event was made possible thanks to the London Wheelchair Basketball Association who provided both the wheelchairs and Ruth Eytle, who coached all the participants for the duration of the day.
