Kris Lavin gets a preview of Oscar Wilde’s Importance of Being Earnest.

In a world where well-kept gardens, subdued butlers and quaint afternoon teas rule the day, there runs an undercurrent of deception, love, and lust.

Trapped in a whirlwind of romance, confusion and mistaken identities, two men learn the importance of being earnest – especially as the women with whom they have fallen in love have an obsession with men named Ernest. Can the troubled twosome win their lovers' hearts regardless?

Expect a cutting satire of Victorian life. Expect fantastic comedic acting from all members of the cast. Expect a suspiciously masculine aunt. Expect muffins.

A trivial comedy for serious people, The Importance of Being Earnest is a sharp, witty and farcical affair which really benefits from the intimacy of a small venue. What else would you expect from Oscar Wilde?
