Although in its infant years, the UCL Ski and Snowboard team are going from strength to strength.
UCL’s Snowsports team showed off their prowess in the recent British University Indoor Snowsport Championships, where 3 of UCL's competitors made the top 20 in their respective disciplines.
Most notably, Amanda Alldridge won gold, holding onto her title from last year, in the Women’s Slalom. She smashed all opposition, winning by a margin of 1.5 seconds over her two runs.
Other commendable performances included Steph Espinosa, who unfortunately just missed a podium position grabbing fourth place in women’s Slalom and the newly appointed snowboard captain Joe Staunton, who finished 16th in the Men’s Snowboard Slalom.
The dual slalom team just missed a spot in the final, losing to the overall winners Loughborough.
UCL’s overall performance was very promising, especially with the race club in only its first full season of competitions. This should provide a good platform to build on for next season, with this newfound success hopefully rubbing off on the freestyle team amongst others!
