The Liverpool Tab is looking for new writers and we want you!

Our first open meeting of the year will take place on Wednesday the 28th of September

Are you a budding writer looking at ways to boost your uni experience and make some new friends along the way? Look no further, we want new writers to join the Liverpool Tab for the next academic year.

Whether you love reporting on your nights out, rating your takeaways or fighting for what’s right on campus, we want you to join our team of experienced writers and help continue the Liverpool Tab legacy.

Writing for the Tab is a great way to make some new pals, add some flare to your CV and gain valuable writing experience. With no strict deadlines and the freedom to write a range of articles, from dating horror stories to reporting on Liverpool students amazing Movember fundraising efforts, not to mention the regular socials.

If you fancy getting involved, come along to our open meeting on Wednesday the 28th of September at 6pm in the Guild Courtyard.


Features stories can range from rating Liverpool students dating icks to crowning Liverpool’s latest BNOC, these stories are the best way to showcase all the weird and wonderful things happening on campus and showing what Liverpool life is really about. It’s a great way to test out your comedic skills and have some fun with your writing. Whether you fancy ranking every takeaway in Smithdown or arguing about which UoL library is best (it’s the SJ of course), there are endless writing possibilities.


This is the best way to inform students about what’s happening on campus and to promote student-led campaigns. The Liverpool Tab has previously kept students up-to-date with the UCU strikes and the renaming of Gladstone Halls in 2021, not to mention the time that Tommy Fury was spotted topless in Moloko ‘necking bottles of Ciroc’.

The requirements:

  • Be a student
  • Be a student in Liverpool
  • Enjoy writing

That’s it! You don’t need to have any previous writing experience, just a head full of ideas and you’ll be set.
