UoL Young Tory poses with Thatcher poster on day of Hillsborough verdict
She has been called insensitive for her Tweet
Olivia Lever, former leader of UoL Young Conservatives, tweeted a picture of herself with a poster of Margaret Thatcher yesterday.
She did this on the same day as a major verdict on the Hillsborough investigation, as David Duckenfield was controversially found not guilty of manslaughter.
This comes a week after Olivia was rejected by a student house as the tenants could see a ‘potential clash’ with her political opinions.
She was also criticised for giving an interview about the rejection to a writer for The Sun, a publication boycotted in Liverpool over its coverage of the Hillsborough Disaster.
Despite being criticised on social media for bringing her Tory politics to Liverpool, Olivia tweeted a picture of herself with a poster of Margaret Thatcher
It was posted alongside a Conservative tweet which read: "Don't just hope to get Brexit done. Vote for it."
Retweeting Olivia's tweet of the picture, user Donners said: "You cried when you came to Liverpool and found out Tories weren't welcome, and now you've posed with a picture of that monster on the day there's a Hillsborough court verdict."
He added: "Get out of my city you fucking arsehole."
The Liverpool Tab has reached out to Olivia and Donners, and is awaiting their responses.
