The Floating Pop-Up Cinema returns to The Albert Dock with a spooky twist
The week-long event will run at the end of October
Unsure of what to do for Halloween? Keen to watch your favourite scary films?
The popular floating cinema is back at The Albert Dock from the 24th October to the 1st November. Following a number of sold out shows in August, we recommend that you get your tickets quickly!
The cinema, which is in association with Independant Liverpool, is providing entertainment for all ages; with adult only nights alongside afternoon screenings for all the family. If you’re the sort of person who loves a fright, the cinema will be showing a number of Halloween classics; the Blair Witch Project, Psycho, Nightmare on Elm Street, Paranormal Activity, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hocus Pocus, Lost Boys and Scream. However, if you’d prefer a relaxed day watching family favourites, they will also be screening Casper, The Addams Family, Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice.
On the 26th and 27th of October, Casper and Hocus Pocus will be shown in two ‘inclusive relaxed screenings’ which ‘have been adapted to people with additional needs’. The shows will have no trailers, will be played at a quieter volume and the screen brightness will be turned down.
Alongside screenings, there will be the option to relax under a warm blanket on a deckchair or beanbag, alongside heaters to keep visitors warm on the Autumnal evenings. Better yet, if you get hungry, the Dock restaurants will be providing a ‘delicious array’ of food and drinks. What more could you want!
Claire Rawlinson, who is Head of Marketing for the Dock, stated on the website that “after such an overwhelming response to the launch of the floating cinema during summer, we’re excited to ramp up the fear-factor and bring the pop-up back for Halloween. It’s a one of a kind in Liverpool, and the versatility of the Dock makes it the perfect setting for the Halloween cinema, with a number of restaurants to choose from for dining before or after”.
To make the most of this spooky experience on your doorstep, tickets will be £8 for children and £14 for adults.
