There was an alleged kidnapping attempt on a teenage girl in Smithdown on Tuesday

The incident took place on Arundel Avenue

At around 4pm on Tuesday afternoon three men attempted to kidnap a 16-year-old girl who was walking along Arundel Avenue, just off Smithdown Road.

A vehicle described as a green Ford type, possibly a Fiesta, containing three men pulled up alongside the teenager. The driver supposedly asked the girl to get in his car after calling her gorgeous. When the girl said no the man then opened the door and grabbed her leg. Fortunately, she was able to kick herself free and then run away.

The girl's mum told the Echo that when her daughter got home she was "shaking and hysterical".
