In a shocking twist of events, The University of Liverpool has gone up five places in the Complete University Guide's league table for 2019, taking it from 41st to 36th.

In addition, Liverpool John Moores University has seen itself move from 75th to 59th, and Liverpool Hope University has increased from 59th to 53rd, making it a hat-trick for the city's universities.

Elsewhere, Cambridge and Oxford have remained first and second respectively, with London School of Economics, Imperial College London and St Andrews finishing the top five.

We thought Hope was shit?
