Liverpool beats London as top UK city to find a job

Is there anything this city can’t do?

Liverpool has many of claims to fame. Other than being one of the friendliestsafest and most inspiring cities in the UK we’re now also the best place to find a job.

We knocked London off the top spot in terms of living costs and doing business, becoming the place to be for job hunters in 2017.

The stats come from growthbusiness.co.uk and are based on average number of job listings from CV-Library. The blog praises how: “a two-hour express train journey from London connects Liverpool to the bulk of the investor community, and the Liverpool John Lennon Airport in the outer limits of the city keeps Liverpudlians connected to international hubs.”

The blog also credited Liverpool’s low living costs – what could set you back £125 per square foot in London costs only £20 in Liverpool.

The 60,000 students here contribute too – we build a potential future workforce and have an array of business to learn from while we study.

Third year Communications student Lowri Herbert said: “Back in the day Liverpool were the highest for unemployment, there were riots about it. Since then we’ve been capital of culture because of how we turned around our reputation and now we’re best for jobs!

“It’s really wonderful news and it makes me even more sad about having to graduate this year. I’m trying as hard possible to stay here.”
