UoL retains their crown, beating JMU across multiple sports.

Another year, another win. On a sunny day down at Wyncote, the dark blues smashed their way to victory on the pitch, in the pool and over the net. Other winning teams included the UoL Equestrian team, who’s 1st and 2nd team both defeated JMU competition, victory for both the mens and women volleyball teams (2-0 and 2-1 respectively), and a win for the Liverpool Netball girls 3rd team again JMU 2s. The Liverpool University Lacrosse men won 8-4 and the women stormed ahead with a 20-3 victory.  Other results are listed below.

VICTORY

 Women’s Rugby Union

A 40-10 win from the girls in blue on the rugby pitch. Well done LUWRU.

Mucky and Proud

Swimming

The swimming squad won outright in the pool.

Football

Liverpool University Women’s football won one of their games 3-0 and lost the second.

Tennis

The men’s and women’s tennis smashed JMU out of court with the men winning 4-2 and the women winning 5-1.

Badminton

Badminton women beat their men to it, with a 7-1 win and a 4-4 draw respectively, although their men did win their premier league play off game against Leeds Beckett today 8-0 so we’ll let them off.

Respect to the ‘Bad’ boys and their premier league win

Golf

We’re even better than JMU at golf – Uol putted a 4.5 in comparison to JMU’s measly 1.5.

Snow Sports

The Liverpool Snowriders beat JMU on the (dry) slopes.

Sliding dirty

Equestrian

The riding team had a double-victory day, with one team winning the Varsity against JMU and another galloping through regional BUCS to get a place in the nationals.

Hot to trot

Lacrosse

Both the mens and women lacrosse team smashed varsity with a 20-3 win for the girls and a 8-4 victory for the boys

Trampolining

Yes, you read that right – this university was a trampolining squad. And to make it even better they won varsity with a score of 270.9 over JMU’s 266.9.

Bounding to victory? I admit, I’m struggling on the puns here

VC Janet Beer (Babe)

And finally, Guild President Harry Anderson showed us that VC Janet Beer was somewhat sheepishly supporting UoL, but the fact she even posed for this makes her a bit of a legend.
