Rodent problem linked to closing of Liverpool One restaurants
Zizzi’s gone too
After Las Iguanas shutting temporarily earlier this week, Italian chain Zizzi has also been closed and the problems have been linked to rodents.
The closure to the two restaurants has now been linked to a rodent problem, as the council inspections found evidence of rodents in both restaurants, within three days of each other.
A council spokesperson told The Echo, “We do a lot of inspections at Liverpool ONE and most premises have a very good hygiene rating.
“But as we have two restaurant closures next to each other, we will discuss the situation with Liverpool ONE.”
Liverpool One estate director Chris Bliss said, “Each restaurant is working very hard to resolve isolated and individual issues and hope to be open again very soon.”
Zizzi began turning customers away yesterday after Liverpool Council visited them for urgent health checks.
A sign on the door read, “Due to a technical problem, this restaurant is now closed.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”
The council confirmed, “Zizzi was closed down this afternoon, voluntarily, because of hygiene concerns.”
