A speciality Cheese café is opening in town today, offering specialist cheeses, meats and other deli style foods.

Cheese & Co. will reside in Derby Square at the end of Castle street, and its menu will run from breakfast ’till late.

The food and drink is influenced by London’s deli and market scene, and the café emphasises that it serves well-sourced food.

Danny Poole told The Echo we are in for a treat; “I spent a lot of time in London researching how they do it there. We want it to feel like walking into a market, with fresh sandwiches on the counter, great produce put together simply but well.

“We’ve travelled around farms finding the best cheeses, the tiny producers you might not find anywhere else.

“It’s part deli, part market stall, part cafe.”

You’re Brie-king my heart

Is it artisan? Edgy? The epitome of gentrification? Who cares, it’s cheese, and it looks like it will taste pretty wonderful.
