Vote now: The best dressed on campus

This week’s top ten fashionistas

Four weeks into semester one and stakes were supposed to be higher than ever. But with the autumn chill hitting Liverpool so quickly, fashion went from hundred to zero real quick. Nevertheless, it was nice to see some of you pulling out all the stops.

Here are some of the best dressed people we found on campus this week, but which one of these stylish students do you think pulled off the perfect autumnal look?

Sam, Chemistry, fresher

Liverpool’s very own Harry Styles went for a patterned shirt, burgundy jumper, black trench-coat and a knitted monochrome-style scarf. He completed this almost preppy autumnal-look with black skinnies and  lace-up leather shoes.

Yasmin,  Philosophy & Computer Science, second year

“Oh my God, I love your skirt! Where did you get it?” Our very own Tab writer Yasmin could be the poster girl for all things retro. She opted for a lepoard-print suede skirt with lace-up detailing,  a blazer in this season’s khaki green, black tights and brown shoes. The accessorizing  of this look with a metallic neck-piece gave the look a far more luxe feel.

Vintage, so adorable

Will, Modern Languages, PHD student

Think manly lumberjack meets Autumn chic. PHD student Will went for a burgundy trench coat, with matching burgundy lace-up boots, a casual black and white tartan-twilled shirt and dark blue jeans. For Will, his look wasn’t complete without his classic Fred Perry barrel bag.

Charoulla, Sociology & Criminology, second year

Charouila pulls off an effortless ‘sloane’ type of charisma in her New Look ensemble. She combines this season’s burgundy with a contrasting white top, white jacket, brown bag , brown chelsea boots and accessorized the look with a burgundy necklace.  We appreciated the fab colour pop on a particularly dull day.

George, Law, fresher

It must be fate that George is a law student, because not featuring this outfit would have been criminal. On top he sports a Polo Ralph Lauren Harrington jacket and Palace pocket tee (that shit is deadstock), and reps Stan Smiths on his feet. N.B. not many people have the black and white #justsayin.

Commenting on his outfit, George said: “I honestly think a young Karl Marx would’ve dressed like this, speaks for itself really.”

Meng Li, Business Studies, third year

We loved that Meng Li epitomised everything luxe. From her Louis V scarf to her cape-style blazer and long pencil skirt. She definitely meant business with this look.

Rebecca, Human Resource Management, second year postgrad

Rebecca’s leather-look dungarees weren’t too out of place with the whole 90s inspired looks that we’ve seen on campus in the past year. She provided a sweet contrast to the luxe dungarees with her stripey long-sleeved funnel-neck top and finished the look off with shiny black boots, packing a subtle punch of grunge.

Gethin, Sociology, second year

Gethin wrapped up in a woolen grey jacket  to complete this preppy school-boy look. He even had the badges, checkered shirt and tie, a messenger bag and a pair of cherry red Dr Martens. We reckon he’ll be gethin our attention again.

Maggie, Management, first year PHD student

Continuing with the 90s trend, PHD student Maggie kept it cool with her vintage Adidas jumper, an oversized woolen coat in navy pinstripe and cropped boyfriend jeans with fray detail. Her fiery topknot bun completes the look.

Katie, Comms & Media and Spanish, third year

Katie has once again caught our ever on-the-look-out eye, opting for all black erry’thang in a black shirt dress from Urban Outfitters, tights and black platform lace-ups. She layers with a relaxed drape-front mac from MANGO.
