Suspected bomb explosions in Garston

Nobody was injured

Earlier today police were called to a suspected car bomb attack in Garston.

The incident is believed to have happened at around 4am this morning, when a loud bang was heard by residents on Canterbury street.

Merseyside Police arrived on the street at about 10:15am following reports of what was described as a small explosion.

Luckily, nobody was injured and no major damage was caused to the area.

Canterbury street has been closed to enable a full investigation, and the Explosives and Ordinance Department are on scene to make sure the area is safe.

It is believed that the device failed to fully go off, and a full investigation is taking place to work out what caused the explosion.

No-one was injured during the incident and no major damage is believed to have been caused.

The event comes after just last week a man got on a bus on Smithdown Road claiming to have a bomb, although no connections have been made.
