BREAKING: Man shot dead near Smithdown Road
The incident took place near Toxteth cemetery
Adam PayneA fatal shooting took place on Holmes street earlier this evening, The Tab understands.
According to the ECHO, locals claim a man was found lying in the road – which is off Smithdown – at around 9pm before being taken away in an ambulance.
The male is described as being 18 or 19 and was shot in the back.
The latest reports suggest the man found at the scene is now dead.
Smithdown Road has been closed off between Holmes Street and Nicander Road while police deal with the incident.
The murder investigation is described as being in early stages.
