A post-mortem is being carried out today to find out why a student died after a night out at Medication on Friday.

The 18 year old student, who is at Liverpool Hope, passed away at Hope Park halls on Halloween after she’d been on a night out with friends.

Police were called at 6.15pm after paramedics found the body inside a property in Hope Place Campus on Taggart Avenue.

A post-mortem is being conducted today to establish the cause of death, which is currently being treated as “unexplained”.

Police are urging anyone who knows the girl to get in contact.

The girl had been to Medication earlier that night

Detective Inspector Ian Warlow from Admiral Street CID said: “At this stage of the investigation the full circumstances of the incident are still being established.

“However we do know that the woman had been out on Friday 31st October (Halloween night) in the City Centre and had been in the Medication Nightclub.

“I would like to speak with anyone who was at that location and may have seen the female. ”

Liverpool Hope University said:

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and friends of our student who died on Saturday. We are currently doing all that we can to support fellow students at this difficult time.

“We do not know the cause of death as the post mortem has not yet taken place. All we know is that the student died after a night in the city centre on Friday and that she had been in a nightclub.”
