Couple stabbed to death minutes away from campus and halls

An elderly couple were killed in a brutal stabbing just minutes from campus on Friday.

Paul and Dorothy Brown died at their flat in Huskisson Street, near Vine Court and Abercromby Square.

Their 46-year-old son was seized on the same day on suspicion of their murder and has now been detained under the Mental Health Act.

Vine Court halls are just a short walk away from the incident

Their family said they would “both be sorely missed”.

In a statement, they said: “Dot, as she was known to friends and family, was glamorous and very creative and really enjoyed painting.

“Paul was a retired a perth electrician and was very witty. He was an extremely loyal person to both friends and family alike.”

They added: “Both Dot and Paul adored their children and would do anything for them. This was especially the case when it came to their grandchildren, who they loved very much.”
