Clearly James Hammet-Burke doesn’t mess about when it comes to a football bet.

The ballsy third year undergraduate has officially put pen to paper as he wagered that if current Swansea manager Garry Monk avoids the sack before his contract expires in 2017 he will swim the English Channel in its entirety.

No going back now.

Pal and formal witness Alex Donovan later took to Twitter to post a written a confirmation of the bet, complete with his and Hammet-Burke’s signature which has since been retweeted over 50 times.

Upon hearing about his outrageous undertaking, friends and family tweeted their delight and support.

His Mum wasn’t so happy.

Unfortunately for this UoL student, since the bet went viral the story has been picked up by The Mirror which means his fate is well and truly in the hands of Gary Monk and the lads at Swansea City.

You ain’t getting out of this one buddy.

Up the Swans! #MonkIn
