Ladies Day Fashion

If you haven’t noticed it’s was the races at Aintree. This means, drinking, dresses and rowdiness.

The Tab looked at the key trends that were seen at Aintree’s Ladies Day this year!

Floral

Floral is a massive spring/summer 2014 trend; there were lots of floral patterns seen at the races, from the dresses, to the hats and accessories. This race goer decided to wear a mirror print floral dress with bright colours to give it edge but a tulip skirt to keep it girly.

Monochrome

Monochrome will always be a classic and was seen all over Chanel catwalks. This race goer wore a matching Zara white two-piece with black accessories and a black and white bag. Co-ords have been a massive trend this season and a fave of Kim Kardashian (when she’s wearing clothes…)

Brights

There’s nothing more Summery than bright colours. This race goer choose lime green which just screams Summer and kept it classy with a mid-length skirt. The cut of the dress is extremely flattering and she kept nude accessories to let the dress do all the work. When wearing bright colours try to keep to one main colour, too many colours becomes loud. Looking like a fruit pastille ice-lolly is not the one.

Long and Sheer

Aintree is one of those occasions where girls get a chance to dress to the nines, so why not? Wearing a long dress can be tricky to pull off, however this race goer smashes it with a unique twist. The embellishment on the skirt is beautiful and floral also the sheer length means it is long without being full on.

Accessories

Coco Chanel said when going out you should always take the last accessory off again. There was some definite bling to be seen at Aintree. The Tab recommends a statement necklace or earrings to heighten the look. Do as this race goer and match you nails to your necklace for a cute look

Hats

A lot of hats were seen of all shapes and sizes. The best-dressed competition winner wore a gorgeous slanted navy hat. If in doubt wear a fascination, which gives the effect of a hat without being too full on.

Shoes

Another tricky one because style and comfort often don’t go hand in hand! It’s a long day and there’s a lot of rough terrain so sturdy shoes are a must. Height of the heel is a personal preference but bare in mind the Daily Mail will be there just waiting to snap a pic of you falling over. But when it all gets too much Crabbies came to the rescue by handing out lime green flip-flops in return for buying a pint, while Merseyrail started handing out black ones at the end of the day.

The Boys

Last but not least… the fella’s. At the races there is only one thing to do… suit up. Without a doubt all men look better in a suit- so at the races it’s time to behave like 007 and get suave.

There were two main types of styles seen: the full suit or the blazer with smart trousers. Both looked very dashing, and moreover when girls get chilly it’s always a gent’s move to give them your jacket!

Good boy

All in all every lady looked truly fabulous!
