Library Revision: The Survival Guide

It’s a tough world out there

Whether your academic habitat is the painfully-hipster Sydney Jones or within the historic walls of fort Harold Cohen, we can all relate to the frustrations of library-based revision.

It’s got to be done, so here’s how to survive it.

Periodic aisle strolling

Being keen advocates of physical exercise, The Tab strongly recommends you break up your revision schedule through occasional laps of your floor of choice. Not only do you enjoy the satisfaction of numerous cardio sessions and time away from the prison of your work station, your walks up and down the many aisles may also lead you to bumping into a familiar face of even a friend, an encounter providing much-needed motivation in your time of reclusion.

Snapchat purging

What better way to rid yourself of all the pre-exam stress and angst than through making all your associates witness your downfall themselves? After all, it has been said the most moving selfies have been taken in times of the most severe personal suffering. If you are going to wrestle with an existential crisis, at least do so with a Snapchat-ready device in hand. You can almost guarantee fellow library goers will be doing the same.

Tactical snacking

Entering the library armed with an arsenal of snacks may not be a new piece of advice for our readers, but the classics never die – and for good reason. Something as simple as a bag of Doritos or a Twix Twin Finger could be the difference between a two and four hour visit to the library. A malnourished mind is a distracted mind. Bear this in mind Tab ultras.

Team bonding

You may be down, depressed and on the verge of self-destruction, but you are not alone. Revision is something even the most rebellious and cavalier students must endure at some point in their time at university. With this in mind, take time to befriend surrounding sufferers. Share revision experiences and console one and other. Who knows? You may find yourself leaving the library with a new best friend or even your very own sweetheart.

Happy revising.
