Musicians compete at Moorfields Station to win professional coaching and studio time

Visitors to Moorfield Station lately may have seen people busking for a bit more than just  your spare change – they were performing in the hope of winning a Merseyside-wide competition.

Merseyrail Sound Station, a search for local musical talent, reaches its final round soon. Performers had to show themselves performing an original track at the station as part of a competition.

The prize of a year’s worth of coaching from industry professionals and recording time is what entrants hope will be the experience they need to move onto bigger things.

Not just any station escalator. The escalator to success.

From hundreds of entries it has been whittled down to a final 10, who will perform in a free gig to decide who wins. Those entrants are;
