Bargain Boozing in the SU

UoL’s student union is the 9th cheapest SU in the country to buy a round of drinks in, new figures reveal.

VoucherCodes.co.uk annual Price of a Pint Index shows the cost of a pint, a glass of wine AND a vodka and mixer in our SU bar comes in at a dazzling £7.50.

Evidently some students require more than a pint to have a good time in the SU

Although the Guild may not be the number one spot for a piss up, it may be worth while taking a trip to take full advantage of this cracking all-year-round offer.

Bristol took the top spot, with the cost of a round in their SU coming at in a jaw dropping £5.80.

London narrowly nipped Liverpool in the race by just 7 pence.

Ulster came in as the most expensive.  If you ever visit, don’t offer to buy your mates a round as the cost of a pint, a glass of wine and a voddy mixer will set you back £8.90 (that’ll leave you 10 pence short of nine shots of Sambuca in Camel on Mondays).

The figures also reveal your average student will fork out £157.68 a month on drinks in their SU bar.

Engineering students splurge a staggering £299.97 a month on drinks, whereas science students spend the least… a rather dismal £108.64.

Max Jennings, co-founder of VoucherCodes.co.uk says: “With tuition fees so high it’s good to see union bars are still helping students have a good night out without breaking the bank. For those looking for a cheap night away from the bars there are still ways to have fun without parting with too much cash.”

Delightful as this news is, however, it is pretty futile considering the Guild is currently closed for refurb.  However, students can still get their cheap round at No. 5 Abercromby Square.
