Students at the University of Liverpool can now celebrate being at the world’s 130th best university.

Figures released earlier this week place UoL ahead of British rivals such as Cardiff University and the University of Exeter, as well as smashing international competitors such as the University of Vienna.

Sadly, Manchester annihilated Liverpool in the rankings, coming in at an impressive 33rd.

Cambridge came in 3rd place and Imperial College London shut Oxford up as they stole 5th place, knocking the Southern toffs back to 6th place.

In terms of academic reputation, Liverpool slipped to an abysmal 191st in the world rankings.

However, UoL did manage to reach 122nd in the rankings according to employer reputation.
