Success for Liverpool at Leeds Open 2013 Novice debating competition.
Catherine ReidTop chin-wagging students Natalie Burles and Niall O’Rourke took on Edinburgh, St Andrews and Birimngham at the Leeds IV Novice debating final last Sunday.
Although they just narrowly missed out on the title of champions, coming second to Edinburgh, this is the second time Natalie and Niall have had success this year, making the Northern and Midlands Debating Alliance Novice Semi Finals back in October.

Speaking to The Tab, Natalie said: “Although it can be a bit stressful and scary the competitive element of of debating is what really appeals. We are obviously thrilled that we managed to do so well and are only looking forward to another chance to compete and win this time!”
The event was held over the weekend at the University of Leeds.
