Boredcasting: Celebrity Big Brother

This week, Boredcasting watches Celebrity Big Brother, but it’s totally not to procrastinate… Ok, only a little bit.

You may remember that when I reviewed the X-Factor I slated Rylan. But the thing is, I’ve had a change of heart about carrot-boy, because carrot-boy is actually kind of funny.

Yes, in a great and valiant effort to procrastinate, I’ve got into Celebrity Big Brother. I will admit it’s not the first time I’ve watched it with so much vigour but this year, it’s surpassed my expectations.

For a start, unlike previous years, I actually have a relative clue who most of the supposed ‘celebrity’ housemates are, and I was quite excited at the prospect of The Hills-stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on launch night. They have been however, a massive disappointment.

Having seen them in action, I expected them to really shake up the house. But all they seem to have done is scream for security and lawyers like the pampered pricks they are. While they dish it out in the diary room, the closet we came to a confrontation wasn’t instigated by themselves, but by Rylan.

Speidi return…

Rylan has done exactly what Speidi should be doing. Even before he started one of the best arguments in TV history (“I’M FAKE?!?! I LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD MATE!!!”) he was my favourite. He’s been a perfect combination of sweetheart and two-faced bitch at the same time. What a cutie.

Of course, Rylan isn’t really what I’d call a celebrity, being an x-factor reject and all, but the great thing about him is that he doesn’t pretend to be. From the moment he entered he’s made no smoke and mirrors about being a little bit starstruck. Honesty points, right there.

Rylan and Claire have a snuggle

Behind Rylan as my favourite, is Claire. My reaction to her was similar to that of Rylan’s (OH MY GOD THAT’S CLAIRE FROM STEPS). And she’s been a midway between dull and boring Tricia and Gillian, and a little bit bitchy. Although she doesn’t seem to like the game of the whole thing very much… which doesn’t make much sense.

The rest of the housemates are just kind of there. Ryan and Razor did get a bit involved in the Speidi fight and it is their fault that everyone is up for eviction but other than that, they don’t seem to do much. Frankie doesn’t seem to do anything other than be nice, which is good to not get nominations… but not so good for viewing.

With the whole house up this week however, we’re certainly in for a shake-up that will hopefully see Gillian or Tricia out (or both? Double eviction pulleaaase big brother).

It’s kind of a shame CBB doesn’t last forever really, because it’s been great to have something to avoid work with every night (although probably not that helpful towards my exams… woops). It’s been fun. Oh and #TeamRylan.
