Angry students have attacked the university for failing to punish shocking homophobic abuse.

After The Tab revealed one fresher’s hell, the uni released a statement saying they had taken disciplinary action.

But it emerged only one student had been disciplined, and all involved are still studying at Liverpool.

When The Tab asked why no further action had been taken, the University declined to comment, saying simply: “These issues are personal and confidential. We continue to support the student concerned.”

Since returning to University just over a week ago, Michael* says he has been attacked twice more. On one occasion, he had to defend himself.

Students suffering from similar abuse are advised to contact the Bullying and Harrassment Advisors and to report it to the police.

Alternatively, you can attend drop in counselling sessions at the university, running Monday to Friday from 1pm-2.30pm, or contact the LGBT.
