ANCIENT HALLOWEEN MURDER MYSTERY REVEALED
Events take a spooky turn this Halloween as Uni research uncovers 750 year-old murder mystery
If it wasn’t already scary enough working into the early hours in the bowels of the Harold Cohen Library, things on campus are taking a sinister turn this Halloween.
A 750 year-old murder case is being investigated after Liverpool Uni research discovered evidence of a grisly end that had been overlooked.
Doing her PHD, Shirley Curtis-Summers has uncovered a savage single sword wound in ancient remains that points to a brutal murder of crusader Geoffrey Dutton.
Despite the victim being a battle-worn soldier, experts don’t think that the injuries that caused his death can be explained by a war wound.
“The slice would have had to cut through the armour for the entire length of the wound. This is not possible which suggests this wound was not received in battle.”
Instead, the theory seems to point to a more menacing motive.
“The possible scenarios that first occur to me are: assault by robbers or caught out, unarmoured, in an attack on his home or a private affray or murder.”
Keep an eye out on campus for a ghostly Medieval Knight with an axe to grind…
