Roy Yap Tai Yong, a 2nd year law student at the University of Liverpool, has died after a car overturned on the motorway in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The body is yet to be formally identified although his parents left for England on Thursday.

The Stratford Herald stated a car had overturned on the M40, near the Longbridge roundabout, before landing in a nearby field and bursting into flames.

Emergency services responded quickly to the incident but, unfortunately, he was confirmed dead at the scene.

His parents have asked for students to respect their privacy and to stop posting condolence messages and statuses.

They have also requested that none of his friends divulge any personal information surrounding the incident and his private life.

Roy, 24, was a well liked student at the university and will be sorely missed.

The law department have put together a tribute book in his memory.
