Police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged sexual assault took place in Lincoln in the Water Lane and Glory Hole area.

The incident happened in the afternoon at 1:30pm on Saturday, April 18.

A 24-year old woman reported she was followed around the city by a man before being inappropriately touched.

Lincolnshire Police are currently appealing for witnesses, and have also asked anyone who may have experienced anything similar to come forward.

The man responsible has been described as white, approx 5ft 8 in height with a skinny build and dark hair.

He was also said to be wearing dark sunglasses and a blue checked shirt.

The glory hole is used as a quick shortcut into town by many students

The area, a main entrance for people to get into town, concerns many students.

Fresher Ettie Stevenson said: “I always get nervous walking around the area. I know it’s only a small alley way but I certainly don’t plan on going through it on my own.”

Other students vented their anger and horror at the assault on Facebook. One commented: “It’s frightening that these are the steps I take into town every day.”
