Lincoln SU vs ban on house sharing

Cherish your housemates while you can

| UPDATED

Lincoln SU have set up a petition against the council’s proposed ban on multiple-occupancy housing around Lincoln.

The petition, spearheaded by SU president Irish Brian Alcorn has clocked up around 1,000 signatures so far.

In a statement, the university said: “Lincoln is growing; its economy has been boosted by the growing reputations of both the University of Lincoln and Bishop Grosseteste University.

“These institutions produce a large number of skilled graduates that could greatly benefit the city and economy.”

Banning these for a better Lincoln? Yeah, right…

Lincoln SU added that problems with anti-social behaviour, over-crowding and untidy properties would not be directly solved by the ban, and that it would affect many more locals than students anyway.
