The Shed is saved!

Victory for the “Save The Shed” campaign as the popular bar is set to keep its doors open as a pub.

Lincoln students took a sigh of relief last night as our beloved pub was saved.

The University of Lincoln’s Annual General Meeting took place yesterday at the Engine Shed, with the “Save The Shed” campaign amongst their list of agendas.

And it’s clearly something the students of Lincoln care about as it was the biggest turnout AGM has ever seen.

The motion was passed with an overwhelming majority and the Student Union ensured us that they would be able to run The Shed efficiently without compromising any other union activities.

AGM’s biggest turnout

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Mary Stuart stamped out concerns that The Shed would be converted into office spaces by deeming the the rumours as “unfounded”.

She said:  “Our goal is to keep The Shed as the important social space that it is for student and university staff. We also intend to keep the current staff if we take over.”
