Lincoln students go in search of a bargain

Two Lincoln students to appear on BBC One’s Bargain Hunt.

Tom Larken, a Journalism student from Lincoln University and Matt Lofts, a Primary Education student at Bishop Grosseteste, are set to appear on Bargain Hunt in early November and battle it out against another team for that No. 1 spot.

With £300 in their pockets and an hour on the clock, the teams will be going head-to-head to see who has the best eye for finding dusty, old antiques amongst a sea of clutter.

The pair told the Lincolnshire Echo: “You could tell from the off that I had no idea what I was doing. We were a bit sporadic about our shopping; we were done within 20 minutes.

“I don’t have any clue what so ever about antiques.”

Matt added: “I applied and asked Tom if he’d be up for it, it wasn’t really serious at first. Just a spark of an idea in my head.”

“My grandparents are very excited as you’d expect, actually, most of my friends’ grandparents are.”

The episode is to air on November 11th at 12:15pm.
