A student has died in Oadby Student Village
It happened last night
Verity BowmanLast night, a student passed away in Oadby Student Village.
The Residential Support Team sent an email to all Oadby students today, letting them know about the death and offering support.
It said: “We are writing to advise you that a resident at Oadby Student Village has sadly passed away. We are directly supporting fellow students in their block and ask that you respect their privacy at this difficult time.
“We realise that news of this kind can be upsetting and the University Counselling Service is available for emotional support should you need it now or in the future.”
Support for students was offered via this webpage or Samaritans on 116 123.
They are unable to release any more information about the situation at this stage. The cause of death is currently unknown, but more information is to follow.
Thoughts are with friends and family at this difficult time.
