Leicester Foxes supporters caused magnitude 0.3 earthquake

Lecturers at Leicester have proved it with science

With Leicester City’s awe-inspiring rise from the bottom to top of the Premier League in the space of a year they have set a number of records on the way – Jamie Vardy’s 11-game consecutive goal-streak being one of them.

However they recently set another record: they became the first team in England – of any sport – to ever create a noise of seismic proportions.

Yes, Leicester City, who have caused an Earthquake in the Premier League this season, have gone one better and actually been the cause of a real earthquake.

Research by University of Leicester

A team from the University of Leicester installed a seismometer near the King Power stadium to register any potential minor quake – and the game against Norwich City brought just that.

The quake registered a magnitude of 0.3, with the tremor being the result of “sudden energy release” as Ulloa’s stretch at the far-post ensured the League Leaders continued their title push.

Unfortunately for Ulloa however, the quake has been labelled the “Vardy Quake”.

Rowdy Leicester supporters

With Leicester City causing an earthquake in a game against Norwich City, one can only imagine the potential tremors as Vardy and co lift the Premier League come May (as a defeated Arsenal fan, my support goes to Leicester City).
