Leicester is the fittest city in the UK

Do you even lift?

Leicester is the most active city in the UK, according to new research.

Analysing data from members and non-members of 67 Nuffield gyms, the 2015 Nuffield Health report has revealed that Leicester is home to the most gym-crazed people in the country.

Findings from the report showed Leicester residents attend the gym an average of eight times a month, compared to the least active city of Fulham where residents only make five visits.

Those living in Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria, were revealed to be the most obese in the UK, holding BMIs of over 30 – exceeding the healthy range of 18.5-25.

What’s more, gym-goers of Swindon supposedly exhibit the bulkiest waist lines, measuring an average of 35 inches for women and 40 inches for men.

Perhaps it really is time to take those New Year’s resolutions seriously and brave the January gym rush.

As for the people of Leicester, forget your decision to give up chocolate – you’re doing alright already.
