Voted as one of the least romantic cities in the UK, Leicester came fifth in the ‘Destination Romance Report’ poll made by hotels.com.
Claiming first place for the least romantic city was none other than Hull. Well, we assumed it would be a bit dull…
Birmingham came in second place, followed by London and Blackpool in third and Coventry and Glasgow shared the fifth spot with Leicester.
Bafflingly, London was also voted number one as the most romantic destination and the Lake District made it to second place.
With the likes of the beautiful Abbey Park, nifty little cafes and restaurants dotted around town, is Leicester really that bad?
English third year Zaheera Patel said: “I’m not surprised, there’s nothing much to do romantically in Leicester. We have the cinemas though…
“Even to have dinner, there’s no where nice or classy to go. We usually end up going to London or something.”
