Forget criticising and start complimenting

A compliments Facebook page is the lastest craze to hit campus.

A Facebook page dedicated to giving Leicester students compliments is the latest in a series of online crazes to hit campus.

Criticisms are officially a thing of yesterday, as one student is determined to prove that there are some kind people in Leicester. Introducing: Leicester University Compliments.

Here are a selection of The Tab’s favourite posts so far:

Generic staff compliment…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all up for complimenting staff, but “kind hearted”? Too far?

Thank you to the janitor in Nixon Court for preventing the apocalypse..

Dirty laundry is a big deal, so it’s nice to say thank you to Mr. Janitor for preventing the population of Nixon Court from smelling like a heap of shit.

WOW!… Just WOW!

This is the sort of thing that people who live together at university ought to send as a group message, so the rest of the world doesn’t have to see their sickening happiness. Congratulations, you had a good time going out and getting drunk together. Please keep this to yourselves.

Really? Surely not…

That can’t be true. Please don’t let that be true. Is it a joke? Is it serious? It’s almost impossible to tell.

While it’s tricky to work out whether compliments are actually genuine, or just sarcastic, the new craze at least suggests that there’s some good will left in Leicester. Doesn’t it?
