BLM protest now happening in Millennium Square NOT Hyde Park

The event will take place on Sunday at 2.30pm

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) protest scheduled to take place on Sunday in Hyde Park has now been cancelled by event organisers so as not to divide support for the movement between that protest and a similar one happening in Millennium Square.

The Millennium Square Protest organised by Black Voices Matter and now with the support of BLM, will now be the only event going ahead on Sunday at 2.30pm.

There is still going to be a Hyde Park protest, but that will take place next Sunday (21/06).

In a Facebook post, BLM said: “Unity is so very important in our community, and black lives matter and black voices matter are jointly committed to fighting and eradicating institutional racism and injustice for black people.

“On that basis BLM has decided to pull their resources to work with BVM and support and participate in the event BVM have organised to take place in Millennium square on Sunday.

“We hope that you will all come along and support this important initiative . One Love.”
