The best and worst places for your next Instagram post in Leeds

The good, the bad and the edgy

There is no denying that Leeds is the ideal city to find your next Instagram post, and some of the best Instagram spots can be easily passed by on your path on the way to uni or town. However, some places just aren't as great for the old gram, so we have rounded up the very best and worst places for your next post.

Best spot: Hyde Park/ Woodhouse Moor

Or even more specifically, Hyde Park in Autumn. You might as well show off that scenic walk to your 9am while you still have time to get those Autumnal shots in Hyde Park/ Woodhouse Moor before the snow arrives (but then, even the snow will look great on your Instagram).

Worst spot: The Roger Stevens Building

I know, I know, you are all just so shocked to see Roger Stevens kicking off the worst places for your Instagram, but here it is. In fact, what is even more shocking is that this eyesore was awarded a 'Grade II Listing', for "special architectural or historical interest". Proving that absolutely anything is possible.

Best spot: Leeds Art Gallery

Leeds Art Gallery finally reopened its doors this October, to reveal an Instagram lovers paradise. The newly refurbished gallery prides itself on having 'light filled spaces', 'a stunning wall painting' and even has a café in the beautiful 'Tiled Hall'. What more could your Instagram want?

Worst spot: Crispy's

Everybody loves Crispy's, there's no denying that. You wouldn't dream of been anywhere else at 4am after Fruity Friday then sat in Crispy's with your cheesy chips and curry sauce. Despite all the good things about Crispy's however, it is just not the best place for your Instagram.

Best spot: Leeds Kirkgate Market

Everybody follows those Instagram models who just happen to come across a colourful wall while they are wearing an outfit which matches it perfectly. Well, you too can now show off your edgy Leeds fashion choices by the colourful wall in Kirkgate Market, which also holds a monthly vintage fair, so you can always buy something new to wear for the gram.

Worst spot: The Merrion Centre

The Merrion Centre is great grabbing a donut and an emergency notebook on your way to uni, but it is not as great for your Instagram feed.

Best spot: LS6 Café

The independent café, LS6, is the perfect place for an Instagram worthy brunch, dinner or cocktail. Whether you want a full Yorkshire breakfast, pancakes or something involving avacado, LS6 has your appetite and your Instagram feed covered.

Worst spot: The top of Briggate

Briggate is the busiest shopping street in the whole of Leeds and the majority of the buildings along the way really are beautiful. But then you reach the top… and it is not so beautiful. Let's hope you have already spammed your followers with some shots of the arcades further down, because even Christmas lights can't save some of these concrete horrors.

Best spot: Leeds Corn Exchange

This beautiful Leeds gem dates all the way back to 1864 and has since become home to a handful of vintage boutiques, gift shops and even a hummus bar. And if you think it looks good now, wait until you see the Christmas decorations.
