Clubbers outside of LUU

Varsity Fruity was evacuated last night because of a fire alarm

We couldn’t even drink away the disappointment of losing

The Leeds Varsity Fruity after-party was evacuated last night due to a fire alarm, forcing confused clubbers to leave the Union and wait in the cold.

Eventually, clubbers we’re allowed back into the venue, but many had already decided to go home.

Rumours began circulating that the evacuation was caused by a bomb scare, but the likelihood of this being the case is very low as no police were in attendance at the incident.

Second year, Robyn Gunn, who attended the event, commented: “It was really confusing, to be honest. First the music cut off, and everyone booed, then we realised it was the fire alarm and they kicked everyone out.”

“I’d only been there for two hours and I paid a tenner for my ticket. We went home because it was raining and they weren’t letting us back in after what felt like ages.

The Tab has contacted Leeds University Union for comment and is waiting for a response.
