It’ll soon be the start of a new year at uni and freshers will soon be flooding into campus. Whether you’re a returning student or just starting, this is the best guide to everything happening during Freshers’ Week. If you’re unsure what events to go to and worrying over which tickets to buy, this is the guide for you.

The Freshers House Party, Canal Mills, Monday 18th September

Start your week off right at Canal Mills, the much-loved venue for Bongo’s Bingo. It starts at 10:00 until 3:00, so you’ve got plenty of time to grab some nuggets on the way home. Tickets are £10 and the music will range from club classics, grime, hip hop, house and R&B.

The Initiation Leeds – A Freshers Ritual, Tiger Tiger, Monday 18th

From 10:00 until 4:00, and with a selection of music from club classics and house, this is an event that you don’t want to miss. Early bird tickets are currently £5 and first release tickers are £7. The event also claims it will be hosted by some of the Love Island and Ex on the Beach cast.

Headphone Disco, Leeds University Union, Monday 18th

A clubbing experience like no other. Wearing headphones with two different channels, you can choose which music you listen to as two DJ’s compete for the most listeners. Probably one of the cheapest Freshers’ events at £4.

Mixtape Project, Canal Mills, Tuesday 19th

Mixtape moves from it’s usual small home to the much bigger Canal Mills for their “Freshers Shindig”. 2nd release tickets are out now at £7 and expect everything from Motown, to Bob Marley and Daft Punk.

The Freshers Zoo, Tiger Tiger, Wednesday 20th

Tickets are currently £10 for one of the most widely anticipated events during Freshers. Dress up as your favourite animal, or whatever you can scrounge up at the last minute, for the zoo. Professional face painting and animal inflatables included. From 10:00 until 3:00.

ToDieFor Freshers Party, The Mint Club, Wednesday 20th

From 10:00 pm until 5:00 am, Mint have a huge line up from Pax to Mia Mendi. Tickets start at £5, and the music genre is from deep/soulful house, house, prog house, tech house and techno.

Neon Glow Rave, Tiger Tiger, Friday 22nd

From 10:00 until 3:00, this event includes glowsticks, UV canons, litres of neon paint, festival lazers and even a team of neon performers and fire performers. Tickets start at £3 but will swiftly increase. The music includes grime, house, R&B, club classics and hip hop.

Trippy Vision Leeds, Church, Saturday 23rd

Tickets are already starting to sell out, and so second release tickets start from £10. The event says: “Get ready as Trippy Visions transforms Church into a spectacular light and laser experience with our biggest production and décor installation yet. Each ticket comes with a free pair of high strength diffraction glasses upon entry to enhance your visual experience.” With room 1 playing electronic/techno/ house and room 2 playing bass/house, it’s the welcome to Leeds you’ll be wanting.
