Vicar Lane, which runs between The Headrow and Kirkgate, has been closed after an elderly man was hit by a bus. There are reports that the Yorkshire Ambulance Service was called around 1.20pm to the scene, which police are currently working on now.

The elderly man has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary with reports of serious injuries and the road is expected to remain closed for some time. Therefore, travel in the city has been disrupted, with First West Yorkshire saying a number of busses have been diverted.

These include the 54, 55, 65 and 75 which are now travelling via Eastgate, St Peter’s Street and Kirkgate city loop.
