Popworld is coming to Leeds

Two members of S Club 7 are performing on the opening weekend

Popworld is opening a new club in Leeds on the 26th of May in the building that was once home to Baa Bar.

Popworld is dedicated to cheesy 1990s pop and other renowned party music, and will apparently celebrate the city as the birthplace of the 1990s pop icon Mel B.

It will offer a variety of drinks and cocktails inspired by sweets: Tingfastic, with Jägermeister, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, and Ting grapefruit soda garnished with fizzy sour sweets, and the Bubblegum Martini with Smirnoff Red vodka, bubblegum syrup, blue curaçao and apple juice, served with a lollipop.

The head of marketing for Popworld at Stonegate, Alan Armstrong, declared: “Popworld is one the most popular clubbing brands in the UK and it was only a matter of time before we brought its colourful personality to Leeds. The city’s nightlife scene is already one of the best in the country, and given the increase in demand for the brand, we can’t wait to open our doors to the people of Yorkshire.”

As part of the opening celebrations, S Club 7 duo Bradley McIntosh and Jo O’Meara will perform some of their greatest hits live on Saturday 27th. The club will have a special, invitation-only preview on the Thursday before the grand opening on the Friday.
