The first ever dog festival is hitting the streets of Leeds this Saturday. No, this isn’t a joke.

The TailWagger Festival is taking place in Meanwood Park (Cafe) this Saturday, and it promises to be a family friendly festival, perfectly suited for any dog owner. According to the official flyer, all of the money will be going towards the French Bulldogs Saviour charity which rescues any French Bulldogs who are in unfit homes and will rehome them into one best suited for them. The founder of the charity describes it as being able to give “these beautiful dogs a second chance of living a healthy and happy life in a permanent loving home”.

The event is being run by five Event Management students from Leeds Beckett University as a part of their degree. They have organised many different events throughout the day, including a raffle with prizes such as two Lazer Zone tickets, a meal for two at Table 27 in Morley, and plenty of other prizes at places around Leeds.

There are also plenty of other activities for the dogs and owners alike. There is a kids ‘creativity’ corner, live music that will carry on throughout the day and a treasure hunt spanning over Meanwood Park.

So, if you want to support your fellow student and have a day out surrounded entirely by dogs and pups then this is one event in Leeds not to be missed. And if this all isn’t enough to tempt you, anyone can go along with or without a dog. See you there.
